Who are your top 3 favourite people to follow on PumpUp? What do you admire most about them?
@lauragully: She has a beautiful physique and her shape is similar to what I’m going for. I always think it’s a good idea to follow a few people with a body type that’s the same as yours (of course, she is definitely much leaner than I am!).
@melodie_lift: I like her mantra: to become the best version of herself. I am big into self-improvement and becoming the best version of YOU. Also, any girl that knows how to add mass, is cool with me!
@alisonkatrin: I think her page is very bright and uplifting, which is fun! I like how she has a mix of fitness photos and photos of her dressed up. I think most women who lift also have that cool, dressy side that they want to show.
What advice would you share with someone who’s looking to keep motivated?
I find women on social media to be very inspirational and empowering. I’ll see someone’s post and think to myself, “man, they’ve got a great body!” or “they’re extremely motivated” and that just makes me want to get up and hit the gym. Not because I want to look like them, but because it makes me want to better myself. If you don’t find motivation from seeing someone else’s success, then compare an old photo of yourself with one taken recently. You might be surprised at the motivation you can get from yourself!
What’s a new, healthy habit you’re working on?
I have a few. One of my main goals this year is to drink more water. Water is soooo important for your overall health and I think everyone could benefit from drinking even just a glass or two more. I also am working on my nutrition. Working out has always come naturally to me because I LOVE to do it, but nutrition has always been a struggle. Right now, I’m focusing on an overall balanced diet. The keyword there being “balance.” I want to embrace a healthy diet, but I don’t believe in restricting yourself because that just takes the fun out of life. Eat clean foods most of the time, but treat yourself every now and then.
What's your favourite way to keep active?
I just really love to lift weights! Some people hate going to the gym, but for me, it’s an escape from reality and a chance for me to relieve some stress.
What is a fitness or health goal that you're most proud of?
I don’t want to sound arrogant, but I am extremely proud of my glutes! I’ve spent the past year perfecting my glute workouts and figuring out the best ways/exercises to add mass to them. I’ve worked extremely hard and it’s paid off! I get people ask me all the time what I do for my booty and that just excites me to know that people actually do notice.
What's your favourite thing about PumpUp? How has PumpUp helped you reach your fitness goals?
My favorite thing about PumpUp is that everyone is so positive! Everywhere you turn on social media, there is always someone trying to push you down, but not here. Every comment that I’ve gotten on PumpUp has been uplifting and inspiring and that has helped me to keep going. It’s nice to hear feedback so that you know you’re actually achieving something!
What makes you feel the most confident?
I like to be in my element. My personal best is at the gym on glute days. I’ve mastered the art of butt building and I feel like I could take on the world when I’ve got that glute pump!
What advice would you give to someone new to the PumpUp community?
Try and find a few different things or people that motivate you and also, stay consistent! Results will come if you keep at it!
